Having previously heard of the award winning film director David Lynch, I was interested and curious when a friend sent me a link today, toward a recent talk Lynch participated in, to discuss; Consciousness, Creativity and the Brain
The talk suprised me. Describing itself as the inside story on transcending the brain, with David Lynch, Award-winning film director of Blue Velvet, Twin Peaks, Mullholland Drive, ... Inland Empire; John Hagelin, Ph.D., Quantum physicist featured in "What the bleep do we know?;" and Fred Travis, Ph.D.
What I found even more valuable, in watching the talk, was discovering the plethora of socially conscious creative outputs Lynch has, especially his BIG idea of World Peace, through the David Lynch Foundation.

Capcom just released a trailer for Street Fighter 4. They don't provide any information on the creators and are all hush on their website. Some time on Google (looking through forums you never knew existed) points to this guy: Atsushi Inaba. The Guardian interviews him here: Beauty and the Beast Okami about a 2005 game in which the protagonist uses a calligraphic brush to engage enemies and interact with the environment. Not bad for game that I thought died on Super Nintendo when I was like 13.

This has been a big day for adorable, colorful, stop-motion animated critters. In addition to the debut of the third Sony Bravia advert, our friend Eames Demetrios wanted to let you know that he has just released a new film titled A Gathering of Elephants. The six minute animation was created as a fun celebration of the newly issued Plywood Elephants.
The elephants were designed by Charles and Ray in 1945, but never went into production due to the cost and complexity of the mold. To celebrate the 100th birthday of Charles, an limited edition 1000 red and 1000 maple elephants have been produced by Vitra and will be available starting in November. The Eames Office spent the past 12 years developing a production version. In the Eames tradition, they hope to offer a more affordable model in the future.
