Designers' celebration time (Stockholm, May 2008)
European Design Week, a series of exciting design events including exhibitions, presentations and receptions, is taking place in Stockholm between May 15-18 2008, culminating in the ED-Awards ceremony on May 18.
A list of all the events can be found here.
Keep in mind that the specific list is expected to grow further, so if you're interested keep checking.
The ED-Conference is probably the most prominent of these events, bringing together fifteen of Europe's most important design studios in a series of presentations and debates.
The speakers list is quite impressive and includes studios from 15 different nations. You can have a look at the list right here.
Don't miss this fantastic opportunity to celebrate European visual communication and interact with your peers!
Keep in mind that there is a 25% discount for early-birds and a 50% discount on a limited amount of student tickets.
Important PS: For those interested in participating in the Awards part of the whole project, keep in mind that the deadline is just 15 days away. For more on this click here.

Puma take a futuristic view of football in 2079 AD
Like some form of full lower body armor crafted after those freaky looking animals you see in horror and fantasy movies, these PUMA "shoes" turn the game into something you'd see in Greek mythology. Via

Geneviève Gauckler's Food Chain
Geneviève Gauckler 's new exhibition will soon begin at Gallery Mu in Eindhoven (Netherlands). Its theme is "food chain". When asked "why food?" Geneviève Gauckler replies that food is both "superscary" and perfectly normal. Food is everybody’s concern, whether you like it or not. Food is ambiguous, it is good and bad at the same time, or rather: it is.
Food has to do with pleasure, disgust, disease, surplus, consumption, survival, energy, digestion, cyclical processes, cannibalism, decay, stench, body odour, obesity, superstition, religion, affluence, fertility. “We’re just a digestive tract” she says. That is not pessimistic, it’s just a simple fact.
