OFFF - day 3

Day 3 and a hell of a start, Spanish Boolab which I didn't had a big idea who they were gave be a very nice surprise, showing the Offf attendees some incredible creative motion work.

The two other morning presentations were quite good, Adobe had Craig Swan making some interactive generative graphics and then Agence7Seven showcased their work, unfortunately I wasn't their to watch none of them.

The afternoon opened in great style! The motion graphics panel with Minivegas , Onesize and Gmunk all of them showcasing their work and discussing work processes.

This was my first time seeing a presentation of the Belgium company Group94 and I was amazed by their techniques ( I already knew their work), a very nice presentation with a good mood and the same impressive work they got us accustomed.

For me the most awaited presentation as I am a great fan of Rob Chiu and Chris Hewitt they started big with the spectacular work made for the OFFF opening titles. Then some talking on the working processes and some more work, I think the sound could be better on this presentation.

Fallon the creators of Sony "Balls" let everybody with their mouth open...what more to say...

The end...well the end had a great sound, a combination of piano, electronic music and light, personally didn't all that interesting, but a great thing none the less.

In the overall, the OFFF Lisbon was fucking great! The weather was cool, a lot of people and friends, great presentations and the promess of a OFFF Lisbon 2009! Hope to see a lot more people next year!

OFFF Lisboa - Day 02

It all started with 50Done & Friends showcasing works on print, motion, but above all a great opportunity for some more Portuguese designers show their great work, I wasn't at this presentation due to workshop issues and by that I lost yet another amazing presentation by Karlssonwilker Inc. a presentation that according to all the people I've talked to was incredible!

I attended Hecq workshop that was really cool, he talked about all his process of work how you have to have a really good idea and be really dynamic to make some sounds, from 30 seconds sounds and those hard 5 seconds sounds where you really have to give your best.

Hellohikimori, the French due gave a nice presentation showcasing their work from print to digital, but I really think this could be better, I've seen better things from them :)

The Data Visualization Panel (Aaron Koblin, Santiago Ortiz, Manuel Lima & José Luis Vicente as a moderator) showed some incredible things, exploring all kind of networks with a special attention to social networks, but the sound of it wasn't all that great.

Fakepilot what to say about this guy... a great entrance with a Daft Punk style to it, then he made a journey trough his work talking about ripped off work, about his journey to Japan, I think nothing new beside that entrance.

Interaction Design Panel (This Happened) with Joel Gethin Lewis, Chris O'Shea and Andreas Muller made a trip trough their incredible work, this guys make things the way they just look like easy to do!

Alex Trochut, probably the best work I saw this day, this man really rocks! Great typography works, amazing illustrations, a man to keep watching!

Hi-Res went trough the incredible work they make, some funny things in the middle but nothing really really impressive to see, yet they have like this high quality thing with them!

Another great day at the OFFF, with another drinking and having fun day :D

OFFF Lisbon - Day 01

I didn't had the opportunity to see the KDU members presentation but got a very nice surprise with Portuguese Vítor Queilhas from dyntypo showcasing some forms of exploring typography in a more digital manner and of course Dino Santos from DSType Foundry that talked about his work progress and the type is working.

North Kingdom didn't make it to the OFFF so Erik Natzke made the honors and did a amazing job with that, I talked to people after the presentation and all of them really loved the presentation!

Remon Tijssen aka Fluid has some amazing work! I knew his work from Fluid but he showed some new things that kept me close to the screen. Random International this was probably the best presentation of the day (in my point of view of course), they showcased their work and were really funny also showing some drawings they made about what should be and shouldn't be Wi-Fi, really great presentation.

Trafik is a French studio with some interesting work, but the presentation wasn't all that good I think this was their first presentation in English so I totally understand the hard work they had to bring this thing together so give them the credit for that and for their work.

Next I saw AllofUs and this guys have such an incredible work! Please check their website to see it all because they are really great their presentation was also a very good one and the work speaks for it self.

Good old Joshua Davis it's always a pleasure to see this guy although I had enough of it :P (I've seen twice in the last to European OFFF's)

The $30 million company Psyop gave a nice presentation walking trough their working process and methods on making some of their work, mainly one of the last ones for Absolut with some incredible imagery and 8000/fps shoots.
