Don't Panic and Momiji welcomes Yota

Momiji and Don’t Panic are super proud to announce the winner of their worldwide competition to find the hottest new design talent. Up and coming graphic designer Yota Sampastneethumrang was announced as the overall favourite by the judges.
The brief was to design the next three limited edition dolls for cult brand Momiji, based on the theme ‘indulge’. All entries were posted on the Don’t Panic web-site, where members voted for their favourite designs. The competition was a huge success with almost 400 entries and 16,000 votes cast to determine the top ten finalists.
The top ten designs were scrutinised by a specially selected panel of experts at a Leonard Street Gallery judging event. Reading like a ‘who’s who’ from the world of fashion and design, the panel comprised of British fashion super-glossy Pop magazine, Mr Jago – world renowned street artist and designer of Play Nice clothing, head buyer from iconic London store Selfridges, Joanna Zhou- designer of last years smash hit range as well as design representatives from Momiji and Don’t Panic’s Director Nick Agha.
Yota’s winning designs are inspired by his lovely girlfriend, whose favourite indulgence is a decadent English afternoon tea. Yota studied graphic design in Bangkok, before moving to London to complete a one year course at London College of Communication.
The dolls will be available exclusively in Selfridges this autumn. With only 200 limited edition dolls being made for the UK market and the overwhelmingly positive response so far, don’t expect them to be on the shelves for long.
