Biography:

Some where in Las Vegas...as a rebellious Sophomore in high school, I decided to say "screw it, those damn teachers and their outdated knowledge of useless crap is a waste of my damn time!" and stay home on my computer. Why? Because of my over-zealous curiosity for programming in VB, HTML, and javascript, designing in Photoshop, and animating in Flash. Shortly after I left school, I was hired as a web designer for a small company (Web Americom) at the age of 17, where they practically taught me everything I needed to know about Flash and ASP. A few years later and I found myself in Fort Myers, FL starting my own business (Pixel Engineering) and getting work by word of mouth. Not really what I had in mind (not really knew what I wanted either), but I did the work and moved back to Las Vegas where I am currently trying to make something out of myself. Fort Myers was a learning experience, Las Vegas will make me or break me, and I WILL make it.

Struggles of a freelancer

One of my biggest daily struggles has to do with "working hard to get out of work". Dear God, help me. I think of so many reasons not to do what needs to get done. I do things that look and feel productive to replace more important, stressful tasks... but they aren't paying the bills. Cleaning my house will not make my clients happy. When will this lifestyle end? When will I grow out of it? Or is it some demon buried deep inside my mind that I have to fight and kill? These are the struggles of a freelancer.
